DIY: mini photo canvas & home made dog treats

these two DIY's i think are great last minute gift ideas. they're super easy to do, fun to do, and unique.

first up: the mini photo canvas. i ordered a bunch of 4x4 prints (you can use any size though) from postal pix (they're awesome!)i decided i wanted to display them in my room and use some as gifts. i bought some 4x4 canvas and a bottle of mod podge.

you paint the mod podge on the back of the photo to stick to the canvas and then cover the front entirely with mod podge and wait about 20 minutes. it dries completely clear! when you are finished you have an awesome little display of art or an awesome gift. wrap with tissue and tie with a bow.

my second DIY was so much fun and very rewarding. i am pet-sitter and decided to bake some home made dog treats to leave for them as an xmas gift. i made a very basic pb cookie for dogs and used a tiny bear cookie cutter to cut them out. i wrapped them up and gave some out today. my clients were totally impressed and the pups loved them.

DIY:pinecone garland

christmas day is 5 days away and maybe you would like some inspiration of a quick, fun and festive craft. i can't take credit for this, i did get it off pinterest but i made it, and it was super awesome.

what you need:
pinecones
different color paints
twine
hot glue

gather your pinecones in different sizes. i got some from michaels that were scented. paint the tips of them and then hot glue the other end to twine. wait till they dry, then hang and enjoy. :)

nothing is better than an easy & unique craft.

tis the season..

happy cyber monday! are you all shopping? i did some online shopping on black friday. ya'll are crazy if you went out. i've only gone once at midnight to see how crazy it was and it was indeed insane and life changing in a sense of that i would never do it again. anyway..

i hope you all had a great thanksgiving! this year was extra special because it was my mom's birthday on the actual day of thanksgiving. things were operated a little differently. every year my mom cooks a huge feast and my dad's family comes out to celebrate with us. since it was mom's birthday, she did not want to cook so we went out to eat. i really prefer not to eat out on thanksgiving but i understood why she wanted to and it was nice. my cousin & her gf from arizona joined our usual group and anthony ate with us which was nice. it was just so nice to see everyone and to share and hear stories from their past. we heard some new stories about my dad and where our names came from, and it was just really a nice treat. that's really what the holidays are about.

my cousin and her girlfriend bought all of us gifts from arizona. all the girls got socks and all the guys got "grow a boxers". super fun! here are me and ant's gifts.

the day after thanksgiving we decorated for christmas. my house is super christmasy and i LOVE it. i am really excited for the holidays this year.
