a saturday in the rain...

as most of you know, the moma had an exhibit for about two months called the rain room. a room that rains but you don't get wet. i have wanted to go since i heard about it, but my weekends are always booked with work of some sort. my boss leant me her membership and ant,sam john and i all decided to go on saturday. i researched it and heard the lines were crazy..but with a membership you get priority entrance. membership hours start at 8 and the museum doesn't open for all ya'll reg folk till 10. so, i decided that it would be so crazy the second to last day, and that we should leave around 5am and get there and wait on the line. my thought was, if we got there that early, we would be out it no time.

well..it didn't quite go like that.

we got there around 6:15am and stood on the members line. we got into the gated waiting area around 8:30 and thought we were golden..that we would be out in no time. we didn't get into the exhibit until 2pm!

at 8:40..a person walked up to a moma employee asking how long the wait was...he responded with "12 hr wait..you are definitely not getting in today." this was at 8:40 am!

so..what happens when you wait on a line that long?

well at first we didn't know it was going to take that long. the moma handed out umbrellas to block the sun which was really nice of them. they worked well, and we didn't mind the wait at first. they only let 10 people in at a time and you're only supposed to say for 10 minutes. the moma staff definitely didn't regulate that at first. there were times where we didn't move for like 40 minutes. it was very frustrating.

my group got antsy. look at their faces..

john got creepy, of course.
haha.

when we FINALLY entered all of our frustrations went away. when we got in we had to wait on another line...it was okay though..we had fun with shadows.

when we got in, the moma staff was better at regulating time. we had exactly 10 minutes. fastest 10 minutes of my life.
